Immigrants who are not yet U.S. citizens have special legal needs often requiring a criminal defense lawyer and an immigration lawyer

Fortunately, our firm handles both. A U.S. citizen who pleads guilty to an offense, often to a lesser charge to prevent jail time, usually pays a small fine or obtains probation and returns home relieved not to serve jail time. For undocumented immigrants and even lawful permanent residents, a guilty plea, resulting in a small fine or probation, could result in deportation or removal from the U.S.
